How It Works

Enter the recipient's name, email, and country. Save them for fast future payments.
Send a Payment
Choose a recipient, enter the amount in your preferred currency, and review the transparent fee breakdown before proceeding.
Secure Checkout
Complete your payment through Stripe's secure checkout. Shimoney never sees or stores your card details.
Recipient Claims Funds
The recipient receives an email with a secure claim link. They submit their preferred payout method — mobile money or bank transfer — and funds are reviewed and disbursed.
Payout Process
When a payment is completed, Shimoney sends the recipient a secure claim email containing a unique, one-time link. The recipient uses this link to submit their preferred payout details:
- Mobile Money — M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, and other supported providers
- Bank Transfer — local or international bank account details
Once the recipient submits their claim, Shimoney reviews the payout details and processes the disbursement. Recipients are notified at every stage — from claim sent, to submitted, to approved, to paid out — so they always know where their funds stand.
Payout timelines vary by method and destination. Most payouts are processed within 1–3 business days after approval.

Security & Trust
- All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor — the highest level of security certification in the payments industry.
- Shimoney never sees, stores, or has access to your credit card or bank details. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe's secure infrastructure.
- All data is transmitted using 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption.
- Recipient claim links are unique, one-time-use tokens that expire to prevent unauthorized access.
- Every payout claim is manually reviewed before disbursement for an additional layer of protection.
Fees & Transparency
Shimoney charges a simple, transparent service fee of 2.9% + $0.50 USD per transaction. This fee is clearly displayed during the payment review step — before you confirm — so there are never any surprises.
The service fee covers payment processing costs, platform maintenance, and ongoing development of new features. Shimoney does not charge recipients to claim or receive their funds.
For multi-currency payments, the fee is calculated based on the USD equivalent at indicative exchange rates. The final charge amount is determined at Stripe checkout.

As part of Shimoney's long-term vision, a portion of the company's growth may support verified soil-health, regeneration, and sustainability initiatives that align with our commitment to community impact and environmental stewardship.
Users are not making investments and do not receive financial returns from these activities. This commitment reflects our belief that the movement of money should contribute to regenerative futures.

Shimoney is a payment management platform. It facilitates the initiation, tracking, and coordination of payments between senders and recipients using trusted third-party payment infrastructure.
Shimoney does not:
- Provide banking services or hold customer deposits
- Offer lending, credit, or financing products
- Provide investment, wealth management, or advisory services
- Offer cryptocurrency or digital asset trading
- Maintain custodial financial accounts on behalf of users
- Guarantee exchange rates — indicative rates are shown for reference only
